Up to $5K available for high school students to attend college
Dayton Daily News
Ohio high school students in the top 5% of their
graduating class may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship money to
attend Ohio colleges. The scholarship is intended to help Ohio attract and
retain an educated workforce to support tech businesses. Randy Gardner, the Ohio
chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education, noted in a letter to
high schools that between 35% and 40% of Ohio’s highest-achieving high school
graduates choose to leave Ohio to attend higher education institutions in other
states. Additionally, 70% of Ohio college students choose to work in the state
from which they graduate.
